Stralsund – SIGMA Medizin-Technik supports workshops with NEUROWERK EMG devices.
This year, the HELIOS Hanse Clinic Stralsund organized the Stralsund Neurophysiology Weekend for neurologists and medical staff from all over Germany for the thirteenth time. Under the direction of Prof. Dr. med. Jörn Peter Sieb (Chief Physician Neurology) extensive three-day training program with methodical seminar was hold again in 2017.
From 29th September to 1st October 2017, the HELIOS Hanse Clinic Stralsund invited interested neurologists to the Baltic Sea for the Stralsund Neurophysiology Weekend. The courses were directed to beginners, advanced and experts in the field of electrophysiology and included practice-related topics only. The hands-on work in small groups allowed questions of each participant to be answered.
The SIGMA Medizin-Technik has been accompanying the training program of the event for many years and provides several NEUROWERK EMG systems each year to carry out the practical course exercises. Because of the simple and intuitive operation of our NEUROWERK EMG devices, the participants were able to concentrate fully on the various course topics and master the practical exercises competently and independently.
On Friday, the first methodical seminar for doctors and MTAs in the Neurophysiology Laboratory took place. In this one-day-seminar, the participants were clearly introduced to the theoretical and technical requirements of neurography by Mr. Grigo and Prof. Dr. Schulte-Mattler. In the practical exercises at the NEUROWERK EMG, the recently acquired knowledge was further deepened.
Doctors and MTAs from all over Germany participated in the following Neurophysiology Weekend. The team of speakers consisting of Prof. Bischoff (Munich), Prof. Schulte-Mattler (Regensburg), Dr. Scheglmann (Augsburg/Zurich), Prof. Dr. Schminke (Greifswald) and Prof. Sieb (Stralsund), led through the subject in an easily understandable and precise way. In addition to the basic knowledge in the field of motor and sensory neurography, topics such as evoked potentials, neural sonography, electromyography or various recording techniques as well as case studies were discussed.
The corresponding lectures were followed by training sessions in small groups in which the approx. 50 participants were able to train on 4 NEUROWERK EMG devices. The high relation to clinical practice continued on the second day. Prof. Sieb presented to the public current cases from everyday clinical practice, with practicing and investigating by support of the NEUROWERK EMG.
As a change from the learning program, the participants were offered a small cultural program. The popular joint dinner took place in a gothic board hall in the old town of Stralsund. On Saturday, you could get to know the old town of Stralsund, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, during a city tour. In a relaxed atmosphere new contacts could be established and the exchange of ideas continued.
We would like to thank Prof. Sieb and his colleagues for the perfect organization, the variety of topics and the practical orientation of this year’s Neurophysiology Weekend. In the coming year, we will gladly support the training program with our NEUROWERK systems.
