Alexandria – The SIGMA Medizin-Technik supports a workshop of our new customer, the ELRAML Hospital for Paediatric, on the topic of nerve conduction velocity on the new EMG device.
Already in 2017, SIGMA Medizin-Technik was able to equip the Children’s Hospital, which belongs to the Egyptian Ministry of Health in Alexandria, with a NEUROWERK EMG. Our local area manager for the region MENA, Mr. Mohamed Zahran, delivered the device with his team on site and trained the clinic staff comprehensively in the operation of the EMG system. In addition, in January, the clinic organized a day course with the topic of Nerve conduction practice in Paediatric Neurology, supported by our Middle East office team.
Last year, our local area manager for MENA, Mr. Mohamed Zahran, and his colleague Mr. Islam Salah travelled from our office in Cairo to Alexandria to hand over a NEUROWERK EMG system to the state-owned ELRAML Hospital for Paediatrics. After several demonstrations, the hospital management committee was able to convince itself of the benefits of the NEUROWERK devices and ordered an EMG system for the Children’s Hospital. Mr. Zahran and his team took care of the installation and setup on site, and trained the clinic staff for later work with the NEUROWERK EMG. After successful commissioning of the system, Dr. Kandeira Khlalil (Head of Physical Medicine) and Dr. Amira Nasser (Head of Neurology) expressed the wish to organize a further joint training event at the hospital as soon as possible.
Finally, on January 15, 2018, the National ELRAML Children’s Hospital organized a day course for physicians on the subject of “Nerve conduction velocity – examination and practice in pediatric neurology“. Ten doctors took part in the further education event. In addition to the methodology of nerve conduction and various practical exercises on NCV examinations, our colleagues from the Middle East office gave a comprehensive briefing on the hardware and software of NEUROWERK EMG. Mr. Zahran was able to give the doctors a few practical tips and tricks for their daily work. Afterwards the participants were allowed to practice different examinations on the device in 2 groups and gain practical experience. All participants were enthusiastic about the ease of use of the software and the high quality of the signals.
SIGMA Medizin-Technik would like to thank the doctors of the hospital and the hospital management for their trust in our products. We would like to especially thank Prof. Azza Sabry (Head of the Clinic), Dr. Kandeira Khlalil and Dr. Amira Nasser for the perfect organization of the workshop and look forward to many more joint projects in the future.
