Leipzig – NEUROWERK EEG in practice at the University Hospital Leipzig.
On 24th November, 2017, the Association of Neurophysiological Technical Assistants e.V. (FNTA) organized a training event for MTAs at the University Hospital Leipzig. The training was dedicated to the topic “Advanced EP-ENG-EMG-EEG”.
Mrs. Dr. Baum (University of Leipzig, Neurology), Mr. Prof. Reiners (Würzburg) and Mrs. Berief (FNTA) guided the participants through the training day as speakers. The course program started with a series of lectures, which should firstly give the participants the theoretical basics. The lecture by Mrs. Berief on “EEG – Epileptic Seizure Patterns” started. Further topics were diagnostics in neuromuscular transmission disorders, brainstem diagnostics, the conduction block and nerve and muscle sonography.
The theoretical basis was followed by the practical part of the exercise, which was also designed according to the wishes and knowledge of the course participants. Mr. Lehmann (Sales Manager Germany) from SIGMA Medizin-Technik GmbH accompanied the course with a NEUROWERK EEG system, where the participants were able to put the newly acquired theoretical knowledge into practice and test it in various exercises. For example, one of the exercises dealt with the correct placement of the EEG electrodes and the error-free recording of the measurement results with the NEUROWERK EEG.
Mr. Lehmann also introduced the NEUROWERK product family and the service portfolio of SIGMA Medizin-Technik. In addition to the NEUROWERK EEG and EMG devices, SIGMA Medizin-Technik also offers its customers comprehensive support and services as well as various further education offers and a wide range of matching neurological accessories and consumables. This can be ordered by phone or via the online shop throughout Germany. Many of the participants took advantage of the opportunity to find out more about the accessories range by Mr. Lehmann’s explanations.
We would like to thank the Leipzig University Hospital and the FNTA for the invitation and look forward to see you again next year.
