Stralsund, Germany – SIGMA Medizin-Technik supports the Neurophysiology Weekend in Stralsund with NEUROWERK EMG devices this year as well.
The HELIOS Hanseklinikum Stralsund invited neurologists and medical staff to the popular Neurophysiology Weekend for the 14th time already. Directed by Prof. Dr. med. Jörn Peter Sieb (chief physician neurology) a comprehensive three day program with technical seminar was created once more in 2018.
From September 28th to September 30th the Stralsund Neurophysiology Weekend at the HELIOS Hanseklinikum Stralsund for interested neurologists took place at the Baltic Sea this year as well. The course offer was directed to beginner, advanced and expert persons in the field of electrophysiology and only dealt with topics relevant in practice. During the practical work in small groups it was possible to answer the participants’ questions individually.
SIGMA Medizin-Technik has been giving support to the training program of this event for many years already and provides several NEUROWERK EMG systems for the practical trainings each year. The participants were able to assure themselves of the simple and intuitive operability of our NEUROWERK EMG devices during the practical training regarding different topics.
The technical seminar related to practice for doctors and MTA took place in the neurophysiology lab on Friday. In this one-day seminar the participants were introduced to the theoretical and technical need in the evoked potentials by Mr. Grigo and Prof. Dr. Schulte-Mattler. During pracitical exercises at the NEUROWERK EMG the participants were able to deepen their newly gained knowledge.
In the following neurophysiology weekend the advisor team consisting of Prof. Bischoff (Munich, Germany), Prof. Schulte-Mattler (Regensburg, Germany), Dr. Scheglmann (Zurich, Switzerland), Prof. Dr. Schminke (Greifswald, Germany) and Prof. Sieb (Stralsund, Germany) lead through the topic in their everywhere valued and easily understandable and precise manner. Next to basic knowledge in the area of motoric and sensible neurography topics like evoked potentials, nerve sonography, electromyography or different recording techniques as well as case studies were covered.
After the presentations there were training sessions in small groups where the 50 participants were able to practice using 4 NEUROWERK EMG devices. The high correlation to the clinical practice was continued on the second day. Prof. Sieb presented latest cases from the clinical daily routine with which plenty examinations for diagnose finding using the NEUROWERK EMG were conducted.
As diversion from the learning program there was a small cultural supporting program organized for the participants. During the popular dinner together in a Gothic hall house in the historic city of Stralsund new contacts were made and the conversations were continued in a relaxed atmosphere. On Saturday the participants were able to get to know the historic center of Stralsund (UNESCO World Heritage) better during a guided city tour.
We would like to thank once more Prof. Sieb und his coworkers for the perfect organization, the thematic diversity and the practical orientation of this year’s neurophysiology weekend. We would be glad to support the training with our NEUROWERK systems again next year.
